A boutique address with a story
Elan Kiama is an exclusive collection of 18 residences designed by PBD Architects. Positioned just outside the town centre, the site offers privacy without disconnecting from life of Kiama.
Main Beach, Kendall Beach, cafes and coastal walks all sit a short distance away. Ocean views open toward the horizon, with the mountains rising gently behind.
Desire was approached to lead the brand direction and develop brand identity, digital presence, photography, videography and social media presence.
Designed to move like morning light
Our direction centred on refined coastal energy with a warm sense of motion. The name Elan set the tone. Everything that followed flowed from that feeling.
A soft pastel yellow captured the subtle glow of early morning. Earth tones grounded the palette. Clean coastal blues offered clarity. A serif typeface with generous spacing brought elegance while a monospaced sans serif added precision.
The logo drifts through its spacing and form. Its oval variant nods to sunrise over water. The cropped “E” within a circle offers a confident coastal marker.
Ribbon-like strokes in deep yellow suggest warmth and motion. Tide-line textures add subtle depth. Compositions remain calm and open, with movement built into spacing, flow and typographic rhythm.
The final direction leaned toward the freshness and optimism of morning, expressed with maturity and restraint.

The videography and photography approach for Elan mirrored its ease.
Cinematic minimalism layered with natural, walking coastal living at the forefront. Slow, intentional movements. Light drifting across surfaces. Talent that reflected the real Elan buyer.

In a category often defined by the same coastal tropes, the challenge was to create space for something new.
The opportunity was to lead with feeling, sophistication and story.
The result positioned Elan as a rare, boutique sanctuary by the sea that will stand the test of time for years to come.
